This is one of our premier events each year! Rye Pack 2, along with other Packs in our area, participate in this day chocked full of fun events followed by campout in tents.
You can come early to enjoy all the different activities or just be there by dinner after which Pack Leaders will lead the Cubs along a candle-lit path in the woods to a the annual ceremony with Chief Akela. There, Akela and his council lead a fireside ceremony where our Cub Scouts are promoted to their next rank. It's something your Cub will NEVER forget! Watch your email/calendar for more information regarding this great event!
Our AOL Scouts (5th Graders) are invited to volunteer at Christ’s Church’s Annual Tree Sale alongside Scouts from our affiliated Scouts BSA Troop - Rye’s Troop 2.
Time is currently TBD, but final schedule, details and a SignUp Genius are forthcoming, so if you’ve got an AOL Scout please put this on your calendar and plan to have your Scout attend.
The Pack's annual Cubmobile Races will be held on Saturday, November 23rd from 11 AM - 1 PM on Holly Lane in Loudon Woods. So it's time for your Den to either build or tune up its Cubmobile! Please see instruction and rules here on the Files page of our website.
ONLY Scouts who have paid their dues and sent in their annual medical forms / waivers are eligible to race. Scouts MUST wear bicycle helmets, closed-toed shoes, long pants and long sleeve shirts, and all Cubmobiles must have a working brake and seatbelt. Everyone MUST bring a paper (not plastic) lawn bag of leaves to cushion obstructions along the race course.
NO PARKING IN LOUDON WOODS — please park outside the subdivision and walk in.
Once again, The Sarmiento family, who live at the race’s finish line at 8 Holly Lane have graciously offered to host us this year, so we will gather on their front lawn to kick things off.
Camping is the best… especially in a cabin!
Mark your calendars for this year's Westchester-Putnam Council's 32nd Annual Thunderbird Games will begin on Saturday, October 19th at nearby FDR State Park (2957 Crompond Road, Yorktown Heights, NY).
The Cubs can participate in over 40 fun outdoor games, have a great time (and check off a few requirements towards their Adventure Belt Loops, Pins and next rank) and in the evening there is an optional cabin campout (@ Durland, ~15min from FDR State Park).
